"One of the best college art museums in the country" —The Washington Post
Founded in 1963, the Blanton Museum of Art holds the largest public collection in Central Texas. Recognized for its modern and contemporary American and Latin American art, Italian Renaissance and Baroque paintings, encyclopedic collection of prints and drawings, and Ellsworth Kelly’s Austin, the Blanton offers thought provoking, visually arresting, and personally moving encounters with art.
The museum is located at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Congress Avenue and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am – 5pm, Saturday from 10am-8pm, and Sunday from 10am – 5pm. Blanton All Day, happening on a Saturday or Sunday every second weekend, features a full day of art with live music and programs throughout the museum.
