Creek Show in Austin is a dazzling light art event that returns this year from November 8 through 16, 2024, marking its 10th anniversary! Held along Waller Creek, this event showcases large-scale light installations by local artists and designers, transforming the urban landscape into a colorful outdoor gallery. 

Open nightly from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Creek Show is held at Waterloo Greenway, with the main entrance at 1401 Trinity Street. Tickets range from free to $15, with proceeds supporting Waterloo Greenway’s ongoing park transformation efforts.

Creek Show Things to Do & Attractions

Creek Show 2024 will feature five captivating light installations that are set to transform Waller Creek into an immersive nighttime experience:

  • “Alluvial” by Plume Design Lab uses illuminated steel tiles to mimic water’s flow.
  • “The Ghost Boat: Through the Looking Glass” creates an eerie, glowing boat lost in time. 
  • “Night Watch” showcases giant glowing eyes under the 12th Street Bridge, watching as visitors pass by.
  • “Waller Creek High: A School for Extraordinary Fish” features touch-activated, color-changing fish sculptures.
  • “Shadows of Former Self” casts light on extinct creatures, reflecting Central Texas’s prehistoric past!

Visitors can also enjoy live music, kid-friendly activities, and on-site food and drink vendors (Note: outside food and beverages are prohibited). For more dining options, guests can check out the nearby Red River Cultural District for some of the best nightlife in Austin.

Parking

Parking can get busy, but several options are available.
